PAHRA was established through a Congress in which more than a hundred organizations from all over the Philippines participated. It was formed as an alliance of individuals, institutions and organizations committed to the promotion, protection and realization of human rights in the Philippines.

Political Prisoners in Thailand advocates for those who are charged with political crimes by raising awareness about the use of Thailand’s lèse majesté law, the Computer Crimes Act, and the sedition law. Using an independent website, PPT keeps track of the pending and acquitted cases, as well as convitions under these charges.

The Popular Office offers pro bono services and legal assistance by staff and students for criminal and civil cases.
