LucindaA. Low

Lucinda A. Low is senior counsel with Steptoe LLP, based in Washington, D.C. She has served on the Firm’s Executive Committee and as its International Practice Leader, among other management positions. She is a widely recognized authority on the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other anti-corruption standards, including the anti-fraud and anti-corruption norms of the multilateral development banks such as the World Bank, and other international regulatory compliance, investigation and enforcement matters. Her practice also focuses on international arbitration, particularly of investor-state disputes.

She is widely recognized for her expertise in the various areas of her practice. Ms. Low chairs the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Integrity (formerly known as Transparency International-USA). She served as President of the American Society of International Law from 2016-18 and was the first woman to chair the ABA Section of International Law.

She is a member of the U.S. Secretary of State’s Advisory Committee on Public International Law, and has served on the ICSID Panel of Conciliators (appointed by the United States) and the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators (appointed by the World Bank President). Ms. Low has lived in Brazil and works in Portuguese, Spanish and French as well as English.
