At the World Justice Forum IV in The Hague on July 2013, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg moderated a Keynote Conversation: Women Leadership in Rule of Law with former Chief Justice of Brazil, Ellen Gracie Northfleet, and Nobel laureate and Iranian judge Dr. Shirin Ebadi.

In this video, this impressive group of women reflects on their own personal experiences of discrimination as women in the legal field and how they overcame it. Ginsberg discusses unconscious bias and the importance of noting where there are gaps in women’s representation and how to break down barriers for women to be active leaders in the rule of law.

As part of International Women’s Day, the World Justice Project celebrates women leaders in the rule of law field and their commitment to greater gender equality to advance the rule of law around the world.
